Nested RAID 60 across groups

RAID 60 stripes over several RAID 6 groups, and the diagram shows how each group tolerates its own disk failures. The calculator underneath translates the resulting capacity into recording time.

How it works

The same RAID monitor can draw nested levels. Here a simulated RAID 60 of sixteen disks is shown as four RAID 6 groups, with striping across the groups on top. The panel works out fault tolerance per group, so each group survives two failed disks, and usable capacity as eight of sixteen disks. The what-if slider below feeds that capacity into the recording time calculator, which divides it by the measured camera bitrate. Planning is done on the server data without changing any disks.

Planning board with drag and drop

Planners see every technician across the week and place work orders by dragging cards onto a day. Colour bars show planned hours against the working day, and an unplanned queue sits beside the board.

How it works

The board does not keep its own copy of the work. A card is a job from the same table that dispatch and the technician's phone use, and dropping it on a day writes the new date and assignee to that row through the browser. The colour bars are computed on the server from planned hours, the person's working day and recorded absence, so the load figure and the job list cannot disagree. Touch screens can drag as well, and the unplanned queue is simply the set of jobs that have no date yet.

Each person's own schedule
PES web app

Each person's own schedule

Technicians see their week with hours planned, hours clocked and time still available. Every job shows its time, address and status, and the schedule can be added to a personal calendar app.

How it works

The schedule is a view over the same job and absence records the planning board uses, grouped by day, with planned hours added up beside the hours the person has clocked. Nothing extra is stored for it. The calendar link is a private, revocable address that serves a standard iCalendar feed, so Outlook, Google Calendar or a phone calendar can subscribe and refresh it themselves. The address contains a secret token and can be switched off at any time, which stops the feed immediately.

Project overview with hours

A project page brings its work orders, booked and planned hours, engineering packages and extra work together. Tabs lead to materials, drawings and storage for the same project.

How it works

A project is the record that groups jobs, with a customer and a budget. The page adds up booked hours from approved timesheets and planned hours from the planning board, both read from PostgreSQL when the page is opened, so the totals always match the underlying entries. Engineering packages, extra work and materials attach to the project through ordinary database relations, and each tab is a separate server-rendered view that appears only if the company has licensed that module and the user has permission to see it.

Your planning at a glance

Planned, worked and available hours for the week sit above a day-by-day calendar. Employees see their own schedule without asking the office.

How it works

Planned, worked and available hours are calculated by the server from the planning board, the recorded hours and the contract of the employee. The calendar shows only the signed-in person's own assignments, because permissions are checked on the server for every page. When the planner moves a job, the change appears here on the next load and can also trigger a notification. Nothing is planned on the phone, so office and field always see one version of the schedule.

AI assistant with suggestions

Ask about projects, planning, storage or colleagues in plain words, or start from the suggested questions.

How it works

The assistant answers questions from the company's own data, such as projects, planning, storage and colleagues, using a language model that runs on the company's own hardware. The answer is built from database queries made with the permissions of the asking user, so it cannot reveal what the user could not open. Long questions are handled in the background and the reply is shown when it is ready. The suggested questions are starting points and can be replaced by free text.

Field app: my jobs

Technicians see today's assignments with time, address and job number. They can share their location, report a fault or open a list, calendar or logbook.

How it works

The list is the technician's own work orders for today, taken from the planning board on the PES server. Address links open the phone's navigation app, and the number opens the dialler. Location is shared only after the user agrees in the app and in Android, and the browser engine reports it to the server. Reporting a fault creates a record in the company database, and files or photos can be attached with the phone camera.

Dispatch from the phone

Dispatchers see who has jobs today, which are unassigned and which are late, and can open the live map or let the planning agent assign work.

How it works

The dispatch view combines the planning board with open work orders on the server: who has jobs today, which jobs have no technician and which are late. The planning agent proposes assignments using rules based on availability, skills, location and the existing schedule, and a dispatcher confirms. It runs on the server, and no data is sent to a cloud service. The live map opens from here and uses the same shared positions.

Weekly timesheet
PES on a phone

Weekly timesheet

Hours booked, scheduled and billable are shown for the week, with submission at the end of it.

How it works

Booked hours come from time entries in the PES database, scheduled hours from the planning board, and billable hours from the project each entry belongs to. Submitting the week locks the entries and sends them to the approver, and the status is visible to both sides. The rules for rounding, overtime and approval are the company's settings on the server. The phone shows the page and stores no timesheet data of its own.
